Video Blog | Riz Ahmed at Occupy Wall St
By Riz Ahmed
As some Ceasefire readers might already know, I spent yesterday (Saturday 29th) at OWS with The Kominas. It was amazingly diverse, emotional, and in some ways very organised despite being anarchic.
Of course, people were there for different reasons and with different goals. Some wanted to voice specific issues or campaign for their own set of policies.
For others, OWS itself was the goal – as an alternative way of organising society and fulfil its needs cooperatively and fairly.
Predictably enough, Geraldo Rivera and Fox News were there to report “objectively” on the movement, but it didn’t quite work out for him….
